Warner Bros. Developing Sci-Fi Take On THE ODYSSEY

Deadline reports that Warner Bros. is finally moving forward with their adaptation of Homer's The Odyssey. Instead of a straight up version they've decided to go with a science fiction take with newcomer James DiLapo writing the script. It's a common trend to use Roman/Greek names for planets and moons. Recently, Ridley Scott's Prometheus took the Greek myth to heart and took elements for their sci-fi flick. Homer's poem has sci-fi epic written all over it with war, gods, witches, sirens and giant cannibals. Their journey takes ten years so it's possible it could end up a franchise in the making.
