Variety reports that Sony and director Marc Webb are currently looking hiring Shailene Woodley (Descendants) for the role of Mary Jane Watson. Originally, Emma Stone had been cast in the role only for the studio to change her character to the more classic Gwen Stacy. They are also currently looking to cast Harry Osborn.
They also report that Electro could be the villain of the film.
