RUMOR: INCEPTION 2 Really Happening And Next For Nolan?
Inception is one of the highest grossing original films ever made making $820 million worldwide during it's theatrical release. It wasn't based on existing material and wasn't a sequel. However, it looks like Warner Bros. is eager to have Christopher Nolan develop it into a franchise with Inception 2. A while back it was revealed by actor Tom Hardy (via ScreenRant) that the cast had signed-on for sequels. Even Nolan commented on a potential sequel during an interview.
“It’s not something I want to say no to, but it’s not something I’ve given a lot of thought about.”
Over the summer a rumor sparked that Nolan's next film could be Inception 2. ComicBookMovie seems to have a source within Warner Bros. that could see the concept of inception actually being the star of the film. They say they'll ditch the original cast (already seems fishy) and focus on the military properties of the device. In the film Arthur mentions briefly the device was originally created by the military, a simple hint to a sequel? Apparently, if Nolan turns it down they're going to pursue it with another director. This sounds like a giant leap and could be completely fictional. That said, Christopher hasn't made an announcement about his next film, so anything could happen.
"Rumors spread that a group of people managed to pull off Inception, and middle-eastern terrorists soon catch onto the idea and plan to perform Inception on world leaders, forcing them to dissolve law and order".

Best movie ever. No other movie is like it that is why I love it! Inception 2!
ReplyDeleteShut the fuck up!
Deletelol, all he said was nice movie, you need anger management
Deletei agree and it's why i like it too
DeleteLoved the movie, but I think a sequel is unnecessary, it would basically ruin the movie. They should leave it as is, making it just that much better and avoiding the risk of ruining the first movie with a bad sequel.
DeleteFirst movie broke to many rules. It's lame. I'm watching it at 1:00 A.M. and it still sucks.
DeleteI don't think Nolan would want to make a sequel. It would just ruin the original.
DeleteInception starts from its end...
DeleteJust cus a sequel is bad it doesn't mean it will make the original bad. it will still be the same film. just with a terrible sequel.
DeleteWell, if they did more of a *prequel*, like Arthur or the Cobbs or Miles working with the military on the PASIV or something, training sims and safer therapy or spying simulations, how (and why) the tech made it into corporate espionage? Miles seemed to be highly involved in the Dreamtech, and Mal and Dom seemed to be experimenters of a sort, so... yeah. Lots of potential for a *prequel*, like how they all stumbled into the business, but I don't see anything *after* the Inception working. The Conception of the PASIV, inception, and it's Fall. As Pawan Mittal said above, "Inception starts from its end...", so why not go back to the beginnings?
DeleteI don't think a sequel will work. The original will always be the best one, the others will just be bad attempts at money-grabs. It didn't work for Matrix, it won't work for Inception.

I would totally see it but it would probably ruin the whole thing
ReplyDeleteI have thr story - with the top left spinning at the end of Inception - I'd cell Inception 2 "Deception", starting with Leo coming back in, seeing his totem still spinning, and realizing he's not yet in the real world. He has to find out where he is, and how to get back.
ReplyDeleteWell done sir!
DeleteYes, but the whole point of the spinning top was to signify that Cobb didn't care whether he was in the real world or not (thus why he didn't wait to see the result before turning to his children)
Deletedude the top wobbled at the very end, im pretty sure that means he is in the real world, whether he cares or not :P

DeleteOH MY GOD!!!!!!
DeleteI never noticed wedding ring.
His totem wasn't the top...It was his wedding ring. "In my dreams we are still together." The top was his wife's totem..
Deletefist my ass you fucking fucks
DeleteI will lick your dirty bunghole till it bleeds you toolbag
DeleteAn original film that lives in an era of regurgitated nonsense and horror remakes. Inception exists on a level all by itself and doesn't need a sequel.
ReplyDeleteAn additional movie doesn't necessarily have to do anything to the first movie. It's for people who love the "idea" of the movie and want more. It's generally just good to have more (as long as it's somewhat good). As long as you're not trying to be a critic about it, or just this "amazing know-it-all", it would be nice to see more of that world.
DeleteCorrect!^
ReplyDeleteAgreed^^
ReplyDeletehe comes home gives kids hug totem still spinning he doesnt know it is still spinning, he stays outside with his kids when his dad kids grandpa walks into the room and see's the totem spinning he turn back to cobb and smiles cob looks at him confused while grandad walks away with watery eyes.
ReplyDeleteI dunno, maybe. But there were enough mindfucks in the first one. I don't think I can handle any more! :)
ReplyDeleteNo sequel that would ruin it inception is awesome as is
ReplyDeleteTrue words. A sequel is appealing, but Inception by itself is already a masterpiece. It's like making a sequel to Titanic. (Not comparing the two, just how stand-alone the films both are)

ReplyDeleteThis movie has originality. Best movie ever!
ReplyDeleteThe totem looks like its still spinning but for a quick moment it looks like its going to stop spinning. If you ask me, is questionable whether he is in a dream or in the real world because the movie ends with the totem still spinning but kinda looks like it was slowing down. SOUNDS LIKE THE PERFECT SEQUEL
ReplyDeleteI suggest you take look at the link below. It provides good insite to the spining top and his totem.

Such a great film. The music is amazing and so fitting as well. A sequel would ruin the first film.
ReplyDeleteAgreed^
DeleteEven if they use a mmilitary ztory line ii woulf like to see the orginal ccast in the movie being recruited by thhe government to help fight terrorist since they haave the experieence which also gives then unlimited resourceful as well as having to deal with the same opposition in the real world as welll
ReplyDeletewell it looks like Interstellar will be Nolan's next film with Jonah Nolan co-writing with Chris on the script.. it will involve warmholes and alternate worlds.. perhaps like a high-concept of the show Sliders.. anyways I wouldn't be shocked if this ends up being an excuse to bring back the Inception cast.. Michael Caine has already said he's on board..
ReplyDeletesequels usually ruin the original notion.leave it like this.make another snow white or bugs bunny instead
ReplyDeleteWas watching it at low volume with subtitles and at the end one of the kids say that they are building a house on the cliff. I dont reckon they should do a sequel but if they do, it better be a masterful piece of script writing.
ReplyDeleteWell, considering Nolan spent *ten* *years* writing it, I don't think they could make one as good, but I'd see anything they gave a fair shot at just for the sheer artistry of the first. If nothing else, I can appreciate that (and that the movie's camera angles switching never made me dizzy like some have). It really was *art*, wasn't it? Both in the scenery *and* the dialogue.
DeleteWhat if the totem looked as if it was about to topple over but never does. PARADOX!
ReplyDeleteOfcourse its going to be (Middle Eastern) terrorist fucking Hollywood brainwashing
ReplyDeleteThe only reason I think he's still in the dream world is because his kids haven't aged at all even though he has supposedly been gone for a long time however when he speaks to them on the phone they dont seem to sound any different so I have no idea, love the head fuck ending though. A sequel would be awesome but I think if they ditch the original cast completely it could be less than exciting
ReplyDeleteActually, the kids playing Philippa and James Cobb are older than the ones in the beginning, though wearing similar clothes. I bought the script and it says so in the end credits; I remember because one of them is actually one of Nolan's kids.

ReplyDeleteOne of the best movies I have ever seen... Can't even imagine dream within a dream.... I mean how many people do you think in this world are that much imaginative...???
