Rourke Confirmed For War of The Gods

Variety confirms Mickey Rourke has been cast as the villain King Hyperion in War of The Gods. He will be co-starring with Henry Cavill and Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire). Mickey is no stranger to genre films he also has some other interesting roles in the works.

Rourke is also in talks to play Conan's father Corin. Which could be a very small role more like a cameo.

RUMORS

He has also previously been rumored for the role of Sergei Kravinoff better known as Kraven The Hunter in Spider-Man 4. It looked like Kraven wasn't going to be involved in fourth installment in the end. With the reboot in development and Ultimate Spider-Man being the influence. I'm sure they'll be using Kraven sometime in the future if not in the first film. Who better to play the Russian villain than Rourke? I don't think there's anything wrong with Rourke playing two different Marvel villains. If Ryan Reynolds (Hannibal King, Deadpool) and Ray Stevenson (Punisher, Volstagg) can play two different heroes it shouldn't be an issue.

There seems to be a rumor that Rourke could be co-starring as the villain in Rambo: The Savage Hunt. Rourke makes a cameo in Stallone's Expendables which has fueled the rumor.

Another project is the comic book gangster film Pretty, Baby, Machine. The rumored cast includes Jason Statham, Gary Oldman and Ian McShane. Rourke would play Baby Face Nelson.
