NEWS/RUMORS (Jan 16th)

Jay Baruchel (Tropic Thunder) has revealed his co-star Teresa Palmer (Sorcerer's Apprentice, Bedtime Stories) will play the female lead in Mad Max 4. It's been previously stated that Charlize Theron would be the lead actress.

Director Marc Forster (Quantum of Solace) has signed on to helm The Chancellor Manuscript based on the novel by Robert Ludlum (Bourne Series). I'm not sure where this puts the production for World War Z and Machine Gun Preacher.

Yahoo Movies is reporting that Battle Angel will be James Cameron's next film stating the project is in pre-production. It would make sense since they have concept artwork and a script in place.

Micheal Bay talked recently with the L.A. Times about Transformers 3. What he says leads me to believe that Cybertron could play a bigger role in the next film. I feel ILM and Bay have shown us they have the robot thing down, almost to a nauseating point. I think it could be very interesting to shake up the environment for the third film and set some of it on a futuristic robot world like Cybertron.

"There will be a nice crescendo ending...It gets much more into the robot character. The last time you kind of met a few of the robots; this time you’re gonna get a much cooler landscape."
