UPDATES

Dominic Cooper (An Education, Mama Mia) could be up for the role of Fandral the Dashing in Marvel Studio's Thor. I have a feeling Matthias Schweighöfer (Valkyrie) is also in the running for the role.

Troy Duffy has learned a lot since his melt down after making Boondock Saints. He's now back with Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day releasing on Halloween. So of course people are wondering if he'll make another film. SlashFilm had an interview with Duffy and he revealed what we can expect next from him. The concept of The Good King sounds interesting enough, let's hope someone allows Duffy to keep making his films.

"It is basically a tale from the mind of an inebriant. A present-day English uncle’s babysitting his nephews and he’s a notorious drunk literature guy. And they ask him to tell his story, the one he wrote, rather than their common bedtime story. And he’s sauced after playin’ with ‘em all night, so he tells them the story “The Good King” and the whole film is a flashback to 1500s about this king and his friend, the Duke, that virtually do nothing but womanize and booze and discover everything debaucherous that we enjoy in the 20th century, way back in the day. And they’re like huge freaking rock stars."

Stan Lee's cameo for Iron Man 2 has been revealed. He'll play a Larry King type interviewer.

Derek Mears who plays the new Jason Voorhees in Friday The 13th, has officially joined Predators. It's not yet known who Mears will play. He could end up another human or a predator. The two possible predator characters are the "Black Super Predator" which was explained in a recent script review. Or a predator that aligns itself with the humans during a civil war/blood feud among the predator clans. The later was apart of Robert Rodriguez's original script, so that element could have been removed in rewrites. His human character could be that of American solider Nolan.

The creators of the graphic novel The Pro have talked about a wish-list of actresses who they want to play their female lead. The two names include Sarah Silverman and Ellen Muth (Dead Like Me). So with the comic being turned into a live-action film it will be interesting who does end up in the role. The comedy which follows the misadventures of a prostitute who gains superpowers and reluctantly joins a superteam.

Producer Lauren Shuler Donner mentioned in an interview with Empire Magazine that Irish mutant Black Tom could be the villain in Deadpool. Black Tom was mostly teamed up with The Juggernaut. There is a small chance we could see the two together in the film. I wouldn't mind seeing Vinnie Jones return, plus it would make sense that he'd be in Deadpool film. Since both Deadpool and Juggernaut are virtually invincible could make for great fight scenes. Donner also mentions that Blind Al could make the film. I'm wondering if they'll also feature Bullseye and Cable. We could hear announcements on the writer or writers taking on script duties sometime in November, according to Donner. She confirmed starting from scratch with the character, ignoring what we saw in Wolverine.

Director Sam Raimi has confirmed that Bruce Campbell will have a "meatier" role in Spider-Man 4. Campbell has been long rumored for the role of Msyterio. He's appeared in all three films with small cameos. There is also a possibility that Campbell could play Mephisto.

A production site for John Carpenter's The Ward has the first images of Amber Heard in the film. Along with a small piece of promo art.

Siren actresses Mia Kirshner (The Black Dahlia, The L Word) and Diora Baird (Texas Chainsaw Massacre The Beginning) will star alongside Harrold Perrineau Jr (28 Weeks Later, Matrix Reloaded), Kiele Sanchez (A Perfect Getaway) and Rhys Coiro (24, MacGruber) in 30 Days of Night 2. It's expected the vampire film will be direct-to-DVD, but things could change during or after production.

It looks like we'll finally be able to get a look at the full trailer for James Cameron's Avatar on October 23rd and then online on the 29th. The last trailer was poorly received by many and looked thrown together without really telling the story. The running time is estimated to be around 3 minutes 30 secs. AVTR.com the film's viral site has also been releasing interesting images. The first image shows the priceless mineral Unobtanium that levitates. The second one shows a breather that humans have to use outside of the complex because Pandora's air is unbreathable.
