With Land of The Lost heading to theaters during it's press junket, the creators Sid and Marty Krofft talked to Collider about upcoming projects. The biggest project which they talked about was H.R. Pufnstuf. They revealed that it is set up at Sony Pictures with Conrad Vernon directing and Dennis McNicholas (Land of The Lost) writing the script. Vernon has yet to direct a live-action film but has helmed massively successful animated features such as Shrek 2 and Monsters Vs Aliens.
One of the biggest surprises was a bit of hopeful casting for the film. It invovles hiring Johnny Depp to play Wilhelmina W. Witchiepoo. While it's bizzare casting it sounds like something Depp would do. Since he's played Willy Wonka, The Madd Hatter, Sweeney Todd, Jack Sparrow and Edward Scissorhands, odd characters seem to be his specialty.
